A new post for your kind perusal.
Like so many other writers and poets, my brain leads me to write something about something. It could be a word or words someone says, or more often, a picture will inspire me to open up my laptop and type away.
Here is a short poem for my wonderful wife I wrote over the last few days.
WISHING by Rick Haynes
Our world is round
The sky sometimes blue
But does it matter
When I'm with you
Time passes slowly
But each day is bright
For our love is constant
Right through the night
The deep frosts have come
The winter clothes put on
We cuddle up close
It's where we belong
We dream of the summer
And those hot summer days
Where we seek freedom
Amongst the warming rays
ROLL ON SUMMER
BEST WISHES TO YOU ALL
