A POEM WITH BITE

A mate of mine in Crete had an accident whilst pruning
a Carob tree. Here is the message I sent to him.
The man climbed up to cut the tree down
But the tree did tremble and the man did frown
He took out his saw and began to hack
But the branches moved and they didn’t like that
The man carried on and as his saw cut away
The tree shuddered wildly and began to sway
Once more the saw cut deep into the bark
And the tree thought I’ve had enough of this lark
The man never saw the branch that did smack
As he sat on the ground after receiving a whack
This is a true story.
