Christmas Storytelling Hour at Tree Dressing Day

Saturday 5th December 2015

Readings start at 11am

Come and join me

This family friendly event will see your own Portsmouth writers joining in the festivities to tell their Christmas & tree inspired tales or reading their favourite wintery fairytales. Writers include:

  • Vaughan Capstick "The Rosebud and the Dragonfly"

  • Charlotte Comley "The Ghost of Christmas Eve"

  • Abigail Comley "TBC"

  • Zoe Du "TBC"

  • Rick Haynes "Will Christmas Be Cancelled This Year?"

  • Tessa Ditner "Mink"

The day will go as follows:

  • 10.30am Bluebird Storytelling

  • 11am-12pm Portsmouth Writers' Hub Storytelling

  • 12pm Pixiephonic folk music

  • 12.30 Bluebird Storytelling

  • 1pm A guided walk along The Ogham Tree Trail

  • 1pm Pixiephonic folk music

  • 1.30pm Bluebird Storytelling

  • 2pm end

Tree dressing day aims to highlights our responsibility for looking after our trees and reminds us of their enormous cultural and environmental importance. Come along and celebrate the beauty and importance of trees and join us in decorating some of the wonderful trees at Hilsea Lines and take part in some activities as part of this free, fun-filled day for all the family.

The Portsmouth writers hub will tell original short stories written especially for families of Hilsea, as well as short extracts of much loved classic tales. There will also be willow craft and tree decoration making, talks, stalls, face painting, hot soup, hot dogs and hot chocolate.
